Project LI MA MI is a collection of clothing which focuses on the creation of and work with a unique pattern design and motive. The collection consists of three models of clothing, leather accessories and three pairs of sandals. The pattern shows the microscopic view of a flax fiber incision. The design is slightly altered from the reality to express the author's creativity.
The pattern aims to make people think more about textiles and other materials. There is a long way to produce textile material. It costs a lot of energy, time, water and sometimes even people's lives. This project thesis suggests a different way to perceive textile materials. Usually, materials are only seen as the final product, a T-shirt made of cotton or trousers made of linen. But what is linen? It is not just a piece of fabric. Once it was a plant that grew on a field full of the same plant. Each of these plants undergoes a long process to finally be used as a fabric that only then can be utilized in the clothing industry.
